A Matured Man

You could draw the idea when is say how two friends talk। There won’t be any formality, any respect that reflect who is bigger or smaller. I had never been so much serious with friends while making decisions, talking of plans, even at formal programs.

Unfortunately, what I liked to term now, the tradition has changed over the years। Without hitting around the bush, now I wish to enter the matter – it is meeting Tej Man Rayaka after seven years. We had departed from Kathmandu in early 2002 when I embarked on my vigor for journalism career and this man to Germany few months later.

Over the years, he has changed – but I don’t know how I said he hasn’t changed during an evening meet। Might be that led to Mr Rayaka to make me feel he has really changed. At each phone call, I received honorary salute – namaste – which he never used to say in school days.

More I tried to be friendlier, more he tried for formality। He was trying for an interview with me, which rather turned otherwise, he giving interview with me. Please visit our site for his interview, I just uploaded, also aired on radio.

I am interview shy। So far, I have given only three interviews – one to BBC Radio 4, another to CNN and the third with Deutsche Welle television. The first two on Bhutanese issue, the last on recent political change in Nepal. Tej Man might now understand why I denied interview with him on that evening after he finished Vidhya’s.

He has rather become a serious man; of course the time brought in him the maturity। Political issues have become his area of interest – to which he says progressive philosophy to which we here call communism. But he denied communism and progressive philosophy to be same to stress politics in mainland Europe to be a progressive – the socialism.

The tightening bond of relation between EU community and eastern communist might led him to claim so. The day, I am writing this part of the blog, he is leaving Nepal for Germany. Tej Man sir, all the best, and safe journey 6 hai, mero bata. See you later.
