Parliamentary business for this session
Posted On May 24, 2011
The seventh session of the parliament (National Assembly and National Council) has begun in capital on May 20. Not all people know what the political leaders will be discussing during this session, which runs till July 8.
As expected, the parliamentary schedule does not mention anything about the agenda set by MPs of Chirang against the imposition of national dress code. This session will hear voices only from Tongsa and Thimphu districts.
Budget will be tabled on June 20 while Prime Minister Jigme Thinley will present the report on state of the nation on July 1. The joint sitting will see deliberation on several bills and amendment bills as well.
