UN makes ‘happiness a goal’

BHUTAN will lead a United Nations (UN) conference next Monday, where the world body will implement a resolution recognising happiness as a fundamental human goal.

Resolution 54/309 was initially adopted by the General Assembly in July last year, when Bhutan was given the responsibility to come up with practical approaches and mathematical formulae to develop happiness as one of the Human Development Index indicators.
