Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk graduated with Bachelor of Arts majoring in English honors from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, Delhi. Starting as Trainee Officer in 1974 under Foreign Services, he held important positions as Director General, Secretary in RCSC and Agriculture, and Deputy Minister Agriculture, Minister Trade and Industry and Minister Foreign Services. Lyonpo Khandu served two terms as Prime Minister of Bhutan in 2001 and in 2006.
He held positions as Member, Vice Chairman, Chairman, and President of 27 corporations, commissions, banks, authorities, clubs, and committees. He was conferred the Red Scarf in 1987, the Orange Scarf to the rank of Deputy Minister in 1994, and the Orange Scarf to the rank of Minister in 1998.
Wangchuk is the recipient of Coronation Medal. He has participated in international meetings of SAARC, NAM, BIMSTEC, and led bilateral discussions with Nepal and for repatriation and resettlement Bhutanese refugees.
Achievements to his credit include a few trade agreement negotiation with India and trade and transit to Bangladesh, resource mobilization, streamlining licensing, better base for Food Corporation, establishing development programs, training and research projects under agriculture, developed HRD for Royal Civil Service, implementing hydropower plants, establishing industrial estate, and policies (e.g. FDI) and international relations. He is married to Dasho Y. T. Wangchuk.
He served as Minister of Economic Affairs in the first elected government.

Chencho Dorji graduated with Bachelor of Arts from Sherubtse College, Kanglung in 1991 and obtained a Post Graduate certificate in Banking and Finance, Monash University, Australia. He was serving as Regional Manager with Bhutan National Bank Limited in Mongar Branch before resigning to join politics.
Chencho has a professional knowledge in investment, banking and management. He has gathered a lot of experience in recovery and legal aspects of banking as well. He is married and they have one daughter and two sons.
