Kamal Dan Chamling engaged in consultancy in various fields, mainly that of environmental assessments for road constructions.

Coming back to Bhutan worked as a consultant in SME Project for a year and thereafter ventured in to private business. He was the first to start early learning centre in Phuentsholing in 2006 and later expanded it to Samtse and Gomtu.
He is Associate Member of All India Management Association.

Thakur Singh Powdyel graduated with Masters of Arts in English in 1983 from North Hills University, Shillong, India. He earned his PGCE from Institute of Education, University of London UK in 1985.
He started his career as a teacher, rose to lecturer, and to Vice Principal Sherubtse College in 1988. He was promoted to Director, Centre for Education Research in 2001. Thakur has served widely as task force member of Commissions and has chaired Committees and also served as resource person for several development programs. He was a visiting Professor to Graduates School of Asian and African Area Studies, Kyoto University, Japan.
He has numerous prizes winning publications to his credit, and also actively contributed at national and international conferences on GNH. He has own awards in schools and colleges either as the best student or in ranking higher, and is the distinction first earner at RCSC exams in 1984. An acclaimed academician, writer and orator, his joining the Party in autumn 2007 is a boon. He is married and they have a daughter and two sons.
He served as Minister of Education in the erstwhile government.
