Tharchen, 34, was a secondary school principal in Trongsa before joining the race. He has a master’s in educational administration and management from Naresuan University in Thailand.
Tharchen, after completing his bachelors degree in teaching from Samtse College of Education, served as a teacher of Langthel lower secondary school, then principal of Tongtophey primary school, and then as principal of Samcholing middle secondary school, after completing his master’s.
Tashi Samdrup
Tashi Samdrup, 40, resigned from the post of forester to contest the council seat. Tashi graduated from the college of natural resources in Lobesa. He has a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Netherlands, and a master’s in mountain forestry from Austria.
He resigned in Februart from his job as coordinator of reducing emission from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) program under agriculture ministry.
