Pema Lhamo, Kheng was the Director of the RNR Information and Communication Service of the Agriculture Ministry before joining politics in 2007. She also worked as project director of the VERCON, as a teacher and lecturer in Communication for Extension at Natural Resource Training Institure in Lobesa. She is the daughter of former Royal Advisory Councilor. 52 years old Lhamo is from Nangkhor geog.
Ugyen Chophel
From Phangkhar in Zhemgang, Ugyen Chophel graduated in 2007 with a bachelor of arts (English) from Sherubtse College. Since graduation, he has worked as a temporary teacher in Zhemgang lower secondary school, where he taught English and History, and with the dratshang lhentshog for a year and a half.
To stand as National Council candidate, he resigned from his third job, which was in a managerial position with a private company.
He does not believe democracy always needs matured and old politicians. Younger candidates, he said, would add dynamism and be progressive leaders.
Dorji Kadin
Dorji Kadin, 41, from Samcholing under Goshing gewog in Zhemgang served as a civil servant for 17 years. Dorji Kadin began his career as a trainee officer in 1996 with communications ministry before joining Bhutan Telecom where he worked until November 2012, which he left to contest in the 2013 NC election. He did his masters in business administration from Manila in the Philippines and post-graduate diploma in Australia.
Pema Drakpa
Pema Drakpa, the former director of the post harvest centre (under Ministry of Agriculture and Forests) in Paro is from Bardo block. He completed his BSc from Philippines and Masters degree in Foot Technology from Belgium. He worked in civil service for 14 years.
Yeshi Tshomo
Yeshi Tshomo, 28, graduated in 2009 and worked as a contract teacher. She is candidate from Ngala gewog.
